David (little) came to help us get the wall up today. He and Kelly got all four rows of the wall up! Those bricks are about 80 lbs. a piece so they definitely earned their keep today!
It is going to look so great.
Kelly has been using that little tractor after work all week, just to get finished up so that we could get it returned. I had to share the photo of what he looks like when he drives. The first night he used it, he was miserable with allergies, stirred up with all that dust and dirt. So you know what they say about necessity and invention. He figured out a way to work and diminish the amount of dirt he came in to contact with.
On Saturday, when we were finally ready to return the bobcat, I decided that I just had to try it out. It was pretty easy to drive. It does the best donuts ever! Kelsey hopped in after me and took a few turns around the yard. Now we can say that we drove a tractor—for what that is worth!
This was the scene this morning as Maryn left for Phoenix. She starts her job at Wells Fargo tomorrow! There were tears shed because we will miss her, but mostly the tears are of happiness. It is hard to be sad when you watch your child accomplish goals that she has set for herself. I am excited that she is in the middle of making her dreams come true! So, although we will miss her, she is doing exactly what she should be doing…moving on with her life!
Michael and Linette have graciously welcomed her into their home till she finds an apartment. Hopefully that will be sooner than later, just so that she can really be on her own. But I think it makes a nice transition in the meantime.
Today is a big day! It is the first day of the rest of your life! Way to go Maryn! We are proud of you!
The work on the back wall continues—in a major way! The bobcat arrived and we spent the day moving a ton of dirt. Thanks to Dave and Dave Barnett who came to help us. We fixed up the retention pond and leveled out the dirt all over the back yard, not to mention getting the place ready to set up the wall. It looks completely different now.
That is big Dave in the Bobcat, he spent the entire day in that thing. Little Dave worked hard to along side Kelly spreading the dirt that Dave pulled up from the retention pond.
We were excited to spend the day in Mesa to attend Linda’s sealing and reception. We are so excited for her. It was a beautiful ceremony and a lovely day. I can’t wait to witness my girls’ sealings. I love to see the couple come out of the temple, so happy, with loved ones waiting. I took this photo of Linda’s bridal party and her dad waiting for the first glimpse. I thought it was so cute.
Of course time at the temple would not be complete without some flower pictures. I took more than this, but will spare you all the different shots. It smelled heavenly!
And here is my favorite picture with some fun pse edits.
Her reception was very nice an actual sit down dinner and fire pit with s’mores! But what else is to be expected from the culinary graduate, right? They chose a very cute place to have it with lots of fun vintage décor. I loved the entry and all the little “vignette” settings. I took some pictures of my favorite things.
In between we spent some time apartment hunting with Maryn. She will be moving to Mesa, soon, to start work. Until she finds a place she will stay with the Green’s, but she wants to move into her own place asap. We are so excited for this new chapter for Maryn. We know it is going to be great. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for her.
